Aeromexico launches non-stop flight from Cancun to Miami

Aeromexico announced the launch of a new non-stop daily flight between Cancun International Airport (CUN) and Miami International Airport (MIA) beginning December 19, 2024. This expansion, made in partnership with Delta Air Lines, will mark Aeromexico’s fourth route in Florida, joining its existing services to Miami, Orlando, and Tampa Bay.

The new route will complement Aeromexico’s current operations in Miami, where the airline already offers five daily flights from Mexico City. This addition brings Aeromexico’s total daily flights to Florida to 10, further strengthening connectivity between Mexico and the United States. The airline will now operate around 140 weekly flights in Florida, providing up to 24,500 seats per week.

Flights will be operated using Aeromexico’s Boeing 737 MAX-8 aircraft, which can accommodate 166 passengers, including 16 in Premier Cabin, 18 in AM Plus, and 132 in Main Cabin. The airline highlights that this aircraft model is noted for its fuel efficiency, which reduces emissions, and offers passengers in-flight entertainment and high-speed Wi-Fi connectivity.

The new Cancun-Miami flight is part of a broader Joint Cooperation Agreement (JCA) between Aeromexico and Delta Air Lines. This partnership enables the two airlines to enhance connectivity between the U.S. and Mexico, with the new route contributing to more than 65 joint routes between the two countries. Collectively, the Aeromexico-Delta partnership will now manage over 180 daily flights between Mexico and the U.S., providing 31,000 seats each day.
